The Black Eyed Peas rocket up to #2 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Imma Be”, toppling Lady Gaga and BedRock in the process.
New M.I.A. LP This Summer
M.I.A. has been hard at work on the much anticipated follow-up to her 2007 breakout album Kala, due sometime this summer. Having worked with Baltimore producer Blaqstarr on much of the new material, she promises a fresh sound and more singing than on her previous effort. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she explained, “I just stopped singing on the last one because I put more emphasis into production, so I was more about making beats and sang less on my last album.”

Looks like DJ AM will be joining the still-emerging cast list, which currently includes comic books icon Stan Lee (who’s supposedly playing a Larry King-type TV show host), Garry Shandling (as “Senator Stern”), and a rumored appearance from G4 uber-hostess Olivia Munn.
