Kelis Works With Will.i.am + David Guetta

For Kelis‘ upcoming album Flesh Tone, superstar producer will.i.am takes the helm. Of the collaboration, Kelis had this to say when she chatted with MTV News about the new record. “There’s not a song you can mention or an era of music that you can mention that he doesn’t know about or doesn’t understand what made it that [successful]. I think that’s the key in trying to do something fresh.” In related news, Kelis’ new single “Acapella” was produced by current Black Eyed Peas hit maker David Guetta.

Fergie Works with Slash on His New LP

It was recently revealed that Fergie will appear on Slash’s new solo album, lending her vocals to the track “Beautiful Dangerous”. Of the collaboration, Slash recently told Kerrang!, “Fergie is such a fantastic singer, but no one’s really heard her sing a rock song. I’ve played with The Black Eyed Peas a number of times over the years and I knew she’d be able to do it.”

The new self-titled disc, due April 6th, will also feature contributions from Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, Ian Astbury, Iggy Pop and Kid Rock.

David Guetta Becomes Renown Hit Maker

International DJ David Guetta is quickly becoming the hottest hit maker around. Having produced recent smashes for Black Eyed Peas and Akon, the mixmaster shows no signs of letting up. His newest offering is the brand new Estelle single “Freak”. Featuring a classic Soul II Soul sample, the new track has been described as “pumped up dance music stripped to its jagged core”. Rumors have also been swirling around that Guetta has recently spent time in the studio with pop divas such as Lady Gaga, Madonna and Britney Spears.

Rising British hip-hop star Taio Cruz is making an incredible first impression on America, as his new single “Break Your Heart” ft. Ludacris makes an amazing leap from #53 to #1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. With this feat, Billboards reports that Cruz “…sets the record for largest jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by an act with its first charting single…” Not bad!

LMFAO Set For Ultra Music Fest

LMFAO are among the final acts to be confirmed for this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami later this month. They join previously announced acts such as David Guetta, Will.i.am, Groove Armada, Diplo and many, many more. The festival takes over Miami’s Bicentennial Park March 26-27. Single-day tickets are $89.95 (March 26) and $99.95 (March 27) at ultramusicfestival.com. Two-day tickets are $139.95. VIP tickets are $250 for one day, $350 for two days.

Rising rapper Drake is about to release his debut single, “Over”. Says Drake of the first single, “I went with ‘Over’ as the first look because of the words in the hook…The hook being the most repetitive part. I got a lot of great songs on my album. I got songs for women who wanna feel special. I got songs for dudes — if you ever thought my music was too soft, this is one you will enjoy. I got a lot of variety on there, but the biggest thing was that opening line on the hook: ‘I know way too many people here right now that I didn’t know last year.’

A new video for the track is expected soon.
