Beta Rocker

The best new club in America isn’t in New York, or L.A., or even Las Vegas. This year, it’s in Denver.

Beta is the brainchild of the brilliant Colorado natives behind Beatport.com. Known as “the iTunes of electronic,” the website is one of the only places where fans can find, listen to, and download underground dance music.

Last year when I interviewed James Murphy – LCD Soundsystem frontman and DFA Records mastermind – we discovered a shared love of a few things: Disco (not so strange, me being an electronic music writer, him being part of the Special Disco Version DJ duo), the book “Last Night A DJ Changed My Life,” and ultimate fighting.

Now that was awesome—this year’s kick-off event for BACARDI B-Live just wrapped up, and I’m pleased to report that it was a thorough success. I’m a little sunburned, thoroughly hyped up, and definitely ready for whatever comes next.
