Hello Hotlanta!
BlackedOutAtlanta.com’s Reed Dailey gets the tip-off from yours truly about B-Live’s big July 3 gig.
DJ AM: COMING SOON TO A TV (AND A CLUB) NEAR YOU
DJ AM has a just-announced series for MTV, “Gone Too Far.” Think of it as the network’s version of A&E’s “Intervention,” as DJ AM—born Adam Goldstein—works alongside an addiction specialist in helping a new substance abuser every week.
SANTIGOLD AT LOLLA
After a few summers of tremendous European festivals, I’m actually thinking that the best line-up for the season is Chicago’s own Lollapalooza, which just confirmed it’s much-rumored-about schedule. We have TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, Arctic Monkeys, Andrew Bird, the Killers, Kings of Leon, the Beastie Boys, Jane’s Addiction—and personal favorite (and B-Live artist) Santigold.
NYC LIVE: DROP THE LIME
Of all the B-Live artists, the one I’m desperate to hear live is Drop the Lime. The best description I’ve read of the man and his music: “born Luca Venezia, [he] mangles Baltimore breaks, classic house, bassline, and anything else that abides a deep love of deep bass into dance-floor-killing frenzies.”
MSTRKRFT Does the YYYs
Fabulous news for MSTRKRFT: Their remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Zero is actually better than anything on original’s full album.
TIGA: SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT (REALLY)
Fact: The new TIGA for Ksubi sunglasses are insanely excellent.
Second fact: The TIGA for Ksubi eyeglasses are even better—and I need to get a pair of these Clark Kent-style frames.
